Heath Kerley is an experienced and dedicated Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW), completing his studies from the University of South Australia in 2010.
With over a decade of experience in counselling, Heath currently also serves as a school counsellor in a secondary school setting, where he provides support for students navigating academic, social, and personal challenges.
Heath has extensive experience working with adolescents and young adults, and his work has given him the opportunity to gain significant knowledge in various areas of counselling. Over the years, he has encountered and addressed a wide range of client concerns, allowing him to develop a versatile and empathetic approach to his practice. While Heath specialises in working with adolescents and young adults, his experience spans individuals of all ages, including his vast involvement in Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) counselling and tertiary education settings,
Heath primarily utilises Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in his practice, known for its effectiveness in helping individuals identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts and behaviours. Additionally, he integrates other evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Motivational Interviewing to support clients in achieving their goals and improving their mental health.
Patients are eligible for a Medicare rebate if referred by a GP for counselling with Heath. Other rebates are also available through eligible private health funds.
